SMALL GROUP OPPORTUNITIES
For those seeking to grow in Christian discipleship, it is important to regularly attend worship, be involved in fellowship, small group study, and regularly participate in "hands on" mission or service projects.
Adult Sunday School Classes are held at 9:45 each Sunday:
| Pullman Class |
Pullman Class enjoys studying the International Lesson Series which presents vivid, stimulating lessons that explore different ways to understand and apply the biblical message to daily life. Helps adults move from a focus on the Word to reflecting on personal, family, church and community concerns. Class welcomes couples and singles of all ages. |
| Just Friends |
A contemporary group with varied interests. Lessons focus on personal Christian growth by applying scripture and Christian principles to contemporary social issues and daily living.
Fellowship and sharing are important components of the class. Teaching is shared by those members who are comfortable leading discussion. Outside speakers are used on occasion. |
| Growing Christians |
We share a belief that growing Christians are always open to new ideas & new members!
We continually discover that other class members have experienced situations similar to our own. As we explore decision—making, family pressures, maturing in faith, & enjoy social activities we gain a broader knowledge of our roles as Christians & how we can influence others.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Homeless Mealsite
| Since 1992, members and friends of Aldersgate have provided workers for a mealsite on Grand Avenue in downtown Des Moines. Each week-day evening 4 people gather to make sandwiches and other preparations. They then greet and serve 80 to 125 persons, mostly homeless, each evening. |
Food Pantry
| A grocery cart located near the sanctuary is often overflowing. |
Each month the family called Aldersgate contributes non-perishable food to the Food Pantry of Central Iowa or directly to one of our Des Moines area United Methodist mission ministries.
Some months we focus on particular types of food items, depending on the needs of the Food Pantry. |
Club 52
